Vanilla Collagen & Turmeric Smoothie: My Kid’s Favorite
This smoothie is a creamy, rich smoothie with sweetness from the vanilla and a hint of spiciness from the turmeric, ginger, and black pepper. The turmeric and the black pepper act as a powerful anti-inflammatory, while ginger has been proven to be as effective as ibuprofen for pain relief and inflammation.

Ingredients:
(
Makes 1-2 smoothies)
1 to 1 1/2 cups preferred plant-based milk. If you want a thicker smoothie, add less milk.
1 scoop vanilla collagen powder
1 tsp. ground turmeric
1 tsp. ground ginger
2 cranks of fresh ground pepper
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 frozen banana
3 ice cubes, optional
Instructions:
1. Blend in a high-speed blender, start on low for 15 seconds and then blend on high for 30 seconds or until smooth. If you don’t have a high-speed blender, let the banana defrost five to 10 minutes or add a fresh banana and 1-2 ice cubes.
Chef Carla Notes:
- Have fresh tumeric? Use 1-2 Tbsp finely chopped or grated.

This is the perfect drink for a hot summer day. If you are in the north east, like me you know these days are numbered, the leaves are already falling! It’s inspired by the Venezuelan drink, Tizana, which is made with chopped fruit and grenadine and can be spiked.
