What's Your Highest Priority, Right Now? My Interview with The Myth of Motherhood
What's Your Highest Priority, Right Now? My Interview with The Myth of Motherhood
Do you feel like you are doing ALL the things and being pulled in 100 different directions? Ask yourself, “what is my highest priority?” I learned this from my coach and friend Meg Burton Tudman. I was on my friend Alissa Alter’s podcast, The Myth of Motherhood and we chatted about this idea of asking yourself “what’s your highest priority,” throughout the day.
It’s a simple question but it’s easy to get distracted! Alissa had a great idea of how to remind yourself, put a sticky note where you need the reminder to ask yourself the question. After re-listening to the episode I now have reminders on my bathroom mirror, fridge and computer.
In the interview with Alissa, I also talk about my 5/5 Method: Rest, Deep Nourishment, Movement, Mindfulness, and Water and why I created it (hint health meltdown of 2019). See below for some practical tips on how to start with the 5/5 Method and apply it to your life.

My Tips for Using the 5/5 Method:
1. Pick one thing to work on: Rest, Deep Nourishment, Movement, Mindfulness, and Water.
2. Focus on that for the next week. This is not punishment. This is not to shame you. Be gentle and give yourself grace.
3. Celebrate yourself with each win by following JOY (JUST OBSERVE YOURSELF). See how this feels and repeat!
4. Not sure what to pick? Place your hand on your heart and take a deep breath, ask yourself, “what do I need right now.” My answer right now is a sip of water.

This is the perfect drink for a hot summer day. If you are in the north east, like me you know these days are numbered, the leaves are already falling! It’s inspired by the Venezuelan drink, Tizana, which is made with chopped fruit and grenadine and can be spiked.
